Exceedance Maps
- Acidity: exceedance maps based on 1x1km 5th-percentile acidity critical loads for all terrestrial habitats combined and 5x5km ecosystem-specific CBED (Concentration Based Estimated Deposition) acid deposition (S + NOx + NHx) for 1986-88, 1996-98 and 2006-08.
- Acidity exceedances for surface waters based on: critical loads for 1752 surface waters (lakes or streams) sampled across the UK and catchment area-weighted ecosystem-specific CBED acid deposition (S + NOx + NHx) for 1986-88, 1996-98 and 2006-08.
- Nutrient nitrogen: exceedance maps based on 1x1km 5th-percentile critical loads for all terrestrial habitats combined and 5x5km ecosystem-specific CBED nitrogen deposition (NOx + NHx) for 1986-88, 1996-98 and 2006-08. (Maps updated in May 2011 using updated nutrient nitrogen critical loads: see UK Status Report 2011 for details)
Terrestrial habitats used for acidity: acid grassland, calcareous grassland, dwarf shrub heath, bog, montane, managed (productive) coniferous woodland, managed (productive) broadleaved woodland, unmanaged coniferous & broadleaved woodland.
Terrestrial habitats used for nutrient nitrogen: acid grassland, calcareous grassland, dwarf shrub heath, bog, montane, dune grasslands, saltmarsh, managed (productive) coniferous woodland, managed (productive) broadleaved woodland. Unmanaged coniferous & broadleaved woodland is sub-divided into four categories: Beech woodland; acidophilous oak woodland; Scots pine woodland; other unmanaged woodland (conifer and/or broadleaf) not included in the other three categories.
